FrieslandCampina satisfied with drastic remedy

Divestiture of German activities and fewer employees have resulted in a significant improvement in the bottom line in the first half of 2024, writes FrieslandCampina on the group's website.

Dutch Frieslandcampina has been busy with selling off and rationalizations in the past year. And the effort seems to be succesful, as the bottom line for the first half of 2024 lands at EUR 183 million. against EUR 8 million in the first half of 2023. This is what the management writes on the group’s website.

Operating profit has grown from EUR 47 million in the first half of 2023 to EUR 301 million. in the same period this year. Revenue has, however, fallen from EUR 6.7 billion. to EUR 6.4 billion in 2024.

As part of the group’s 2030 strategy, Frieslandcampina has made a number of large depreciations in 2023, just as the German business was sold to competitor Theo Müller. In addition, Frieslandcampina has made significant adjustments to the workforce with just over 1,100 fewer positions.
