Arla’s advance price for conventional milk will increase by 6.2 øre/kg (0.83 eurocent/kg) effective August 1, 2024. This means that Arla’s advance price for conventional milk of the best quality based on non-GM feed, FarmAhead™ Check, FarmAhead™ Supplement, and maintenance costs and logistics subsidy will be 352.9 øre/kg (47.36 eurocents/kg).
Arla’s advance price for organic milk will increase by 6.2 øre/kg (0.83 eurocent/kg) effective August 1, 2024. Thus, Arla’s advance price for organic milk of the best quality, based on FarmAhead™ Check, FarmAhead™ Supplement, and maintenance costs and logistics subsidy, will be 405.5 øre/kg (58.46 eurocents/kg).
The increase in the advance price of 6.2 øre/kg (0.83 eurocent/kg) is a combination of the increase in the milk price of 3.7 øre/kg (0.5 eurocent/kg) and the increase in the FarmAhead™ Supplement of 2.5 øre/kg (0.33 eurocent/kg), as a major part of the milk volumes from Arla’s member farmers earn points for fertilizer use.
In a press release, Arla ascribes the reason for the price increases to the fact that the global milk volumes are stable, that retail sales continue the positive trend, and that the commodity markets are stabilizing on the basis of increased fat prices. Furthermore, the market prices for organic products are reported to be stable.
