Each month, the EU Commission publishes a newsletter covering instances of food fraud—and related suspicions—worldwide.
Cases such as the “Investigation of counterfeit milk at an Italian dairy plant,” “Raid on a factory in Pakistan where chemicals and water are mixed to make milk,” and “Health authorities in Nevada, USA, warn against illegal raw milk sales” are highlighted. These and other food fraud stories appear in the latest edition of the EU Commission’s Food Fraud Newsletter, which compiles reports of food fraud from across the globe.
The newsletter goes beyond dairy-related fraud. The September issue also features stories about a toxic ingredient in counterfeit vodka from Scotland, the seizure of illegal bear meat in Finland, and other noteworthy cases.
The Commission further issues a monthly report detailing the types of products and violations reported within the EU.
