The latest report for June shows growth in the weigh-in of 0.9 percent. However, Denmark has taken a dive even though June, taken in isolation, yielded more milk than last year.
EU milk production in the first six months of 2024 increased by 0.9 percent (adjusted for leap year). Particularly the Eastern European countries increased the weigh-in – Hungary + 4.5 percent and Poland + 4.1 percent. Among the major Western European countries, France and Italy have also increased their weigh-ins (+ 0.4 percent and + 0.7 percent, respectively), whereas Germany, Denmark, and the Netherlands are experiencing declining weigh-ins (- 0.5 percent, – 0.6 percent, and – 1.9 percent in the Netherlands). For Denmark, however, the month of June, taken in isolation, has yielded more milk than in the same month in 2023 – + 0.6 percent.
