Ukraine achieves slight increase in dairy exports

Despite major challenges in production and logistics, the Ukrainian dairy industry managed to increase exports by 13 percent. in the month of July, Dairy Industry Newsletter writes.

In July, Ukraine’s dairy exports increased by 13% year-on-year to 9,320t, valued at US$22.45m, and are up 9% to 69,870t in the first seven months. This is reported by Dairy Industry Newsletter. Volumes of milk and cream exports in July were up 9% on the year, buttermilk up 27%, whey up 20%, butter up 41% and cheese up 50%. Condensed cream exports were down 17%. The industry remains severely impacted by the energy crisis resulting from Russian airstrikes, the Association of Milk Producers in Ukraine said, with diesel generators lacking the capacity to refrigerate products adequately.
