Finnish company Oddlygood acquires British brand Rude Health to strengthen its position in Europe’s plant-based market for drinks, desserts, and more.
Oddlygood, a plant-based company founded by Finnish dairy group Valio in 2018, has acquired Rude Health, a British pioneer in plant-based foods. The acquisition supports Oddlygood’s mission to become a leading plant-based company in Europe, with a particular focus on the UK market, where it has already launched plant-based desserts and beverages. Oddlygood has seen impressive growth in the Nordic region and expects to reach €50 million in revenue this year.
Founded by Camilla and Nick Barnard in 2005, Rude Health is well-known for its high-quality plant-based drinks, breakfast products, and snacks. Their products are sold in over 40 countries, and they also operate a popular café in London. This year, Rude Health is expected to generate €33 million in revenue.
In 2023, Oddlygood also acquired the company Planti, further strengthening its growth ambitions with this latest acquisition. According to an Oddlygood press release, the global market for plant-based dairy alternatives is projected to reach €63.6 billion by 2030.
