Babybel gets a vegan alternative

Bel Nordic AB, the company behind the Mini Babybel cheese brand, is launching a vegan alternative in Sweden.

– We are excited to offer a vegan version of our popular Mini Babybel to our consumers. We believe that Mini Babybel Plant-Based will become a favorite among those seeking a vegan alternative to cheese snacks, commented Danka Mrkovic, Brand Manager at Bel Nordic, in a press release according to Food Supply.

The new Babybel, wrapped in green, will be available in Swedish stores starting in week 37.

Babybel is produced by the French company Le Bel Group, which boasts more than 150 years of history. Over the years, the company has expanded its portfolio and, with two recent acquisitions in 2022, has complemented its core brands (Boursin and Babybel) with plant-based versions. This diversification has led to the Group’s presence in three complementary segments: dairy, fruit, and vegetables.

According to its website, Bel is employing 11,800 people across 29 production sites and operating more than 57 subsidiaries worldwide. Bel Nordic AB head office is located in Helsingborg.
