The King, Danish ministers, and the Danish Agriculture & Food Council are currently in Japan to promote Danish food exports.
With a focus on Danish innovation, sustainable products, and world-class food, H.M. King Frederik, several ministers, the Danish Agriculture & Food Council, and several Danish agricultural and food companies and producers are this week on an export promotion visit to Japan.
– Japan is a high-priority market for Denmark, and we are here to support and strengthen trade relations. It’s about both regaining market share and opening new doors for products that meet Japanese consumers’ expectations for quality, safety, and sustainability. In a changing world—where issues like tariffs can suddenly dominate the agenda—it’s crucial that we cultivate both new and existing export markets, says Flemming Nør-Pedersen, Deputy CEO of the Danish Agriculture & Food Council, according to their website.
Denmark exports dairy products, pork, as well as fish and seafood to Japan every year. And while Danish food exports to the country have generally declined in recent years, there is strong potential to reverse the trend.
– When we look at Japanese consumers’ strong focus on food safety and quality, Danish products are an excellent fit. That’s why it’s so important that we show up and make our presence known—not just to strengthen existing trade relationships, but also to open new doors, says Flemming Nør-Pedersen.
Among the participating companies are Arla Foods, Danish Crown, KMC, FOSS, and Novonesis.
