Arla raises the milk price again

Arla’s milk price for conventional and organic milk will increase by 14.6 øre/kg (2.0 €c/kg) from October 2024 to 375 øre/kg, Arla states in a press release.

Arla Foods’ advance price for conventional milk will increase by 14.9 øre/kg (2.0 €c/kg) from October 1, 2024. This means that Arla Foods’ advance price for conventional milk of the best quality based on non-GM feed, FarmAhead™ Check, FarmAhead™ Supplement as well as maintenance costs and logistic subsidy will be 375 øre/kg. For organic milk of the same quality, the price increases correspondingly by 14.9 øre/kg (2.0 €c/kg). This information is provided by Arla Foods in a press release. The quarterly exchange rate adjustment has a negative impact on the advance price in DKK of 0.3 øre/kg.

In the press release, Arla Foods gives three primary explanations for the price development:

  • Global milk volumes remain stable.
  • Retail sales continue the positive trend.
  • Commodity markets are increasing, mainly driven by products containing fats, especially butter. The increase is due to strong demands for deliveries in the second half of the year, further fuelled by the low seasonal consumption and limited availability of fat in the EU.
