Classics and new products at the IFC podium

Mejeriet Dybbækdal, Troldhede Mejeri (Arla) og Götene Mejeri (Arla Sweden) won the main prizes at the International Dairy Contest, where the winners of the four categories of the gourmet award were once again honoured.

FoodTech and the International Food Contest were kicked off with pomp and pageantry, glitter and gunfire. This happened when seven dairies were called onto the stage to be honoured as winners in the milk, butter, and cheese categories, respectively, as well as four gourmet categories.

Before the ceremony, Henrik Damholt Jørgensen, CEO of the Danish Dairy Board, had welcomed the guests, complemented by Poul Pedersen, former CEO of Thise Dairy, who was the guest speaker. The latter has frequented IFC or the former National Dairy Show for almost 40 years and he has experienced standing at the top of the podium – as well as getting a mediocre grade for his products.

– It’s a really nice and healthy competition and a good way to be together. But remember that it is in everyday life that you earn the favour of the customers, Poul Pedersen underscored.

The winners of the main categories were as follows:

Cheese: Den Hvide Dame (The White Lady), 70+ white mould cheese from Troldhede Mejeri.
Consumer milk products: Skyr with blueberries from Mejeriet Dybbækdal at Thise.
Butter and spreadables: Bregott Sea Salt 82 %, 350 g from Götene Mejeri.

Gourmet Award winners:

Goat gouda from Nørgaards Gedemejeri.
Gourmet butter with open-pan salt from Lindved Mejeri.
Biodynamic original milk from Øllingegaard.
Arla Unika cheese Hallands Siren from Arla Foods Kvibille Mejeri. Read more about the prizes on www.mejeri.dk HERE
