The average price at this week’s GDT auction rose by 5.5 percent to USD 3,920/ton.

On Tuesday, Global Dairy Trade once again traded dairy products between some of the industry’s largest players, with 34,916 tons of dairy products changing hands in 181 trades. This resulted in an average price of USD 3,920/ton. Whole milk powder saw a price increase of as much as 7.2 percent. However, all categories except cheddar showed solid increases, which comes after a couple of lukewarm auctions.

• Whole milk powder + 7.2 percent at USD 3,482/ton
• Skim milk powder + 4.0 percent at USD 2,636/ton
• AMF (milk fat) + 4.8 percent at USD 7,244/ton
• Butter + 3.7 percent at USD 7,350/ton
• Cheddar – 0.2 percent at USD 4,274/ton
• Mozzarella +5.0 percent at USD 4,810/ton
• Lactose +2.7 percent at USD 945/ton
