Lactosan expands with an investment in the tens of millions

A long-planned expansion of the cheese powder factory on Funen, Denmark is now in full swing. Construction is expected to be completed in the spring of 2027.

The expansion of the plant in Ringe, Funen, is part of a multi-year master plan aimed at streamlining the flow of goods and preparing the factory for future growth. According to CEO Jørn Leth Frandsen, Lactosan is investing an amount in the tens of millions of euros. This was reported by Food-supply.dk with reference to the newspaper Fyens Stiftstidende.

It is primarily an expansion of our cold storage facilities, so we won’t need to keep as many raw materials in external warehouses, as well as an enlargement of the raw material reception area, which is currently somewhat undersized,” writes Jørn Leth Frandsen, CEO of Lactosan, in a comment to Fyens Stiftstidende.

Lactosan, one of the world’s largest producers of cheese powder for the food industry, announced earlier this summer a strong financial statement with a pre-tax profit of DKK 168 million – the best in the company’s history.
