Maja Løvstrup appointed editor-in-chief of Mejerimedier

Experienced journalist and communications leader takes over editorial responsibility at the specialized media house

Mejerimedier has appointed Maja Løvstrup as its new editor-in-chief. She stepped into the role on September 15, succeeding Director Anne-Sofi Christiansen, who has until now carried editorial responsibility.

With more than 20 years of experience in journalism and communications, Maja Løvstrup brings a strong background from both the media industry and organizational work. She has served as editor-in-chief and journalist, held leadership roles in public and private organizations, and run her own communications consultancy, working with clients ranging from national authorities to trade organizations and educational institutions. Much of her career has been devoted to value-driven organizations within gender equality, health, social affairs, and education.

  • I’m motivated by meaningful causes and by using journalism and communication to create value. My experience with value-based organizations has shown me how essential purpose and community are—and I see that as central to a union-owned member publication like Mejerimedier, says Maja Løvstrup.

Director welcomes collaboration

Anne-Sofi Christiansen, Director of Mejerimedier, expressed her enthusiasm for the appointment:

  • I’m very happy that Maja has agreed to join Mejerimedier and take on the role of editor-in-chief. She brings a wealth of experience and expertise that will contribute to innovation, modernization, and optimization of both the media and the processes behind them. I’m confident this will strengthen us going forward, and I look forward to working closely together, says Anne-Sofi Christiansen.

Christiansen will continue in her other positions as head of the secretariat and director of MejeriForum and its associated organizations.

Excited to explore the dairy sector

Although the dairy industry is a new field for her, Maja Løvstrup is eager to immerse herself:

  • I’m drawn to working in a specialized media house that combines professional expertise, current affairs, and close ties to an industry with proud traditions. At the same time, I’m very much looking forward to working with my skilled and dedicated new colleagues,” she says.

Maja Løvstrup holds a Master’s degree in Danish and Applied Visual Communication from the University of Southern Denmark. She lives in Odense with her family.
