Arla Foods Ingredients invests in facilities at existing site in Wales.

Arla Foods Ingredients (AFI) has acquired a neighbouring facility at its existing site in Felinfach, Wales.

The acquisition concerns a former factory building that has been closed since May 2024 and has no employees. It does not involve an active business, but should be seen as an investment in buildings and infrastructure.

Focus on operations and infrastructure
According to Arla, the acquisition is part of a strategic strengthening of the framework surrounding its existing production. The investment is intended to ensure operational continuity and provide full control over critical infrastructure and utilities.

Site Director Anne-Sophie Hoff also points out that the expansion will support future capacity:

“Expanding our footprint alongside our existing facility will allow us to expand our processing capability and build a more robust operation for the future”, says Anne-Sophie Hoff, Site Director, in a press release from Arla Foods UK.

Part of growth in the ingredients business
The acquisition follows a period of growth for Arla Foods Ingredients, driven by demand for high-value proteins and the integration of the whey nutrition activities.
