A new survey from Landbrug & Fødevarer (Agriculture & Food) sheds light on Danish dinner habits, including popular dishes and ingredients.
According to the 2024 analysis on Danish dinner trends, the evening meal is an essential part of Denmark’s food culture and something many consumers prioritize highly. Throughout the year, Voxmeter, on behalf of L&F, has surveyed a representative sample of Danes aged 18 to 80, asking what they had for dinner the previous day.
Key insights from the survey:
A closer look at dairy consumption in evening meals shows that the most popular dairy products at dinner are butter, cream, and yellow cheese. Milk is also widely consumed, with 16% drinking some type of milk during dinner.
Young respondents aged 18-29 were more likely than other age groups to include cream, sour cream, spreadable cheese, and cottage cheese in their meals. In fact, this age group is the most frequent consumer of dairy products at dinner.
