McDonald’s and Arla Foods are expanding their long-standing partnership in the United Kingdom to promote nature and sustainability across dairy farms.
Through Arla’s FarmAhead™ Customer Partnership programme, the two companies – together with Arla’s farmer owners – will work to create meaningful, sustainable change on British dairy farms.
A key element of the collaboration is the ReNature biodiversity project, which is being implemented across around 60 organic dairy farms in the UK. The project aims to map the state of nature on farms and support farmers in improving biodiversity, soil quality, and wildlife habitats. The results will be shared widely across the industry to encourage learning and development.
Paul Dover, UK Agricultural Director at Arla Foods, adds:
McDonald’s and Arla have been working together since 1987, when Arla began supplying organic milk to McDonald’s restaurants. The partnership builds on a series of joint initiatives within regenerative agriculture and sustainable development.
The new collaboration supports McDonald’s Plan for Change strategy and Arla’s goals to reduce CO₂ emissions and promote sustainable dairy production throughout the entire value chain.
