New edition of Danish Dairy & Food Industry: The path to a greener future

The 35th edition of the international magazine DDFI focuses on how the global dairy industry is translating climate ambitions into operational change across the value chain.

The 2026 edition of Danish Dairy & Food Industry (DDFI) is published today. Distributed to decision-makers in 123 countries, this year’s magazine takes the pulse of what is arguably the dairy and food industry’s greatest challenge – and opportunity: the green transition.

Under the theme “The Green Transition in Dairy – From policy and technology to market reality”, the magazine examines how the sector is moving from targets and commitments to concrete action – from on-farm production to dairy processing and onwards to documentation and market requirements.

The transition is not only about reducing emissions, but about redesigning production systems, optimising the use of energy and water, and strengthening data-driven decision-making across the value chain.

Among the highlights:

  • How climate targets and policy requirements are translated into concrete solutions in dairies
  • How technology and data are used to optimise production and reduce climate impact
  • How water, energy and resources are becoming strategic priorities in dairy production
  • How requirements for documentation, ESG and reporting are shaping the industry
  • How packaging and sustainability are becoming part of companies’ “licence to operate”
  • How the green transition meets the market – and consumers’ willingness to pay

A global knowledge platform
DDFI serves as a window to the world for Danish dairy technology. By linking technical insight with strategic leadership, the magazine highlights how the Danish dairy sector is working systematically with the green transition – from governance and research to implementation and market positioning.

The magazine is distributed to 6,600 readers across 123 countries worldwide – from Europe and North America to emerging markets in Asia and Africa.
