Stars for Danish gastronomy and food products

When Denmark’s top chefs earn Michelin stars, it also has a significant impact on Danish food producers

At the Michelin Guide Ceremony for the Nordic Countries, held at Anneberg Kulturpark in Odsherred, Landbrug & Fødevarer (Danish Agriculture & Food Council) participated as a partner and representative of the Danish food industry.

  • The Michelin awards are very important to us at Landbrug & Fødevarer – not least because of the remarkable growth in the number of Michelin-starred restaurants since 1983. These stars help position Denmark as a leader in gastronomy and an attractive destination for food tourism. At the same time, they increase international awareness of Danish food products, strengthening their reputation as high-quality goods, said Mette Gammicchia, Head of Market, Food & Gastronomy at Landbrug & Fødevarer, in a press release.

Several producers supplying Denmark’s Michelin-starred restaurants see their collaboration with top gastronomy as an invaluable part of their professional and business development – among them, the dairy company Naturmælk in Southern Jutland.

  • We are incredibly proud to supply many of the country’s top chefs. It’s a pleasure to work with such dedicated and ambitious kitchens – it’s a real point of pride to see our products featured in some of the most creative and refined dishes. This collaboration constantly challenges us in terms of both quality and product development. The chefs have high standards, and that sharpens our sense of innovation and precision, said Leif Jørgensen, CEO of Naturmælk.

He continued:
– We’re fortunate to have the opportunity to develop new products in close dialogue with them. Our recent acquisition, Hårbølle Mejeri, has brought new dimensions to both the dairy sector and the chefs’ palette of ingredients. And the collaboration is honest – the chefs keep us on our toes and speak up if something needs adjustment. The quality must be just right, delivered on time. The mutual trust and shared focus on craftsmanship create an important synergy that continually drives us forward, said Leif Jørgensen, CEO of Naturmælk.
