TINE increases revenue: Protein and natural products drive growth

The Norwegian dairy cooperative TINE improved both revenue and earnings in 2025. Growth is driven in particular by high-protein and less processed products — a trend that aligns directly with the core business of the dairy sector.

In 2025, TINE reported revenue of NOK 30.1 billion, up from NOK 28.3 billion the previous year. Profit rose to NOK 2.1 billion from NOK 1.7 billion in 2024, corresponding to an increase of just over 23 percent.

According to the company, natural and protein-rich products are the main drivers behind this development.

– We are particularly pleased to succeed in the market with natural and protein-rich alternatives that consumers increasingly demand,” said Peder Buskenes, Communications Advisor at TINE, in a statement to MatvareWatch.

Protein and value-added dairy products lift the category
Flavoured milk continues its positive trajectory, while categories such as cottage cheese, quark, yoghurt, grated cheese and salad cheese are delivering growth. The launch of TINE Norsk Mozzarella has also contributed to the upturn. Both volume and value are growing across the dairy category, and TINE is maintaining its market share.

This development is taking place in a market characterised by strong price sensitivity and rising costs. According to TINE, the consumer trend towards increased demand for protein-rich products, short ingredient lists and minimally processed foods aligns directly with the dairy sector’s strengths.

Strategy for continued growth
At the same time, the company has outlined a long-term strategy to strengthen the group across the entire TINE organisation — both through its core business in Norway and via subsidiaries and international activities. Subsidiaries have also contributed positively to the overall performance.

The results are seen as confirmation that long-term brand building, product development and close collaboration with milk producers remain key competitive parameters in a pressured market.
